On the 7th November we were given the task to pin-up and present the influences and beginnings of our design. We had to announce and justify our location, precedent study and initial ideas to the class. Questions were asked by our tutor and class peers at the end.
CRITIQUE:
Combine idea of Fujimoto precedent and design ideas
Work on sections and floor plans
Develop connection ideas
Following from this we were then to produce an A1 pin up encompassing a streamlined version of our design proposal for the week after. We were advised to have a simple layout that read like a book starting with our precedent study through to our selling image.
CRITIQUE:
Show more detail in sections and floor plans
Show how environment reacts with design
Highlight function and purpose more clearly
On the 28th Novemeber we were to present our A1 to an external critic. We were given 5 minutes to present and 5 minutes to answer questions. As anxious as I was I thought this was a priceless experience. It is a very different experience hearing feedback from someone who has never seen your design proposal before as compared to our tutor who knows our projects personally. It was obvious to the critic what we had to do and he clearly showed it with his red marker of doom!
CRITIQUE:
Develop section into selling image
Show two front elevations to highlight shutters
Get rid of any unecessary images/text that was irrelevant
