As a class we were assigned to create a site model at 1:250 which shows the topography and surrounding context. Myself and another colleague, Misbah, prepared the CAD file for laser cutting. I was tasked with the engraving lines and Misbah the cutting.
Luckily our uni was able to fund us the money to purchase the 28 A1 sheets of mountboard to create what you see above. I would also like to point out and thank colleagues, Mwalula, Yusuff, Monika, Ross and Asiya for helping me and Misbah create the model, along with Doug who was able to supply us with the base.
The model is currently still in development as not all the surrounding buildings have been made. Once the surrounding buildings have been completed we will spray paint them grey so that they stand out more which will also make the contours more visible.
This model will be used by all members of the class as part of our submission as we are to create our own individual project models to sit within the boundary of our site, which will be left unfilled for this very nature.
