I like to regard myself as an enthusiastic blogger. I am keen to continue my growth in the blogging world even if there is nobody reading them! It is a great way to exhibit the work and events I get involved with inside and outside of University. To aid my little seedling, I am applying to a blogging job vacancy in the 3D Design department within my University. The job role is to co-ordinate and blog about any news and updates throughout the courses in the department.
To be in consideration for the job, I thought the best and most ironic way possible to apply, would be to do it as a blog post. It’s a very different way of approaching it but there was an element of presentation and delivery that was required, which was an opportunity I could not miss out on. For those of you who may not be interested to read on ... I’ve got some exciting news to tell you!
For the new academic year, Luke Geeves, Alexandra Vasilescu and I have organised for a 3D society to initiate for the upcoming academic year! The 3D society will coordinate with all years and departments within the 3D Design school. We are planning to provide a platform for formal events linked to our designated industries and opportunities for social activities, which combined should equal in an improved studio environment and portfolio outcome. There will be more information disclosed during the summer so stay tuned!
As part of the team who will help run and direct the society, I think it will create a fluid link with the new proposed blog. The society will help voice events and occasions to students that have missed important information in class or via Nile/Email. This joint system could also be benefited by staff as it is another way of making the students aware of any important news and updates.
I believe my grammar and punctuation is to a standard worthy of this job role. It is apparent in my blog posts that I endeavour to show some personality throughout to try and engage the reader. I understand that people have different preferences so I am able to accommodate to the given scenario and welcome any constructive criticism. The job will require someone who has good written and verbal communication skills both to students and staff. I strongly believe that I am a candidate that has proven this through my design presentations and my role as one of the course reps.
Thank you for your time in reading this. Fingers crossed …
And the toes!
