FINAL MAJOR PROJECT - MASTERPLAN

As a team we divided the site up and discussed what the masterplan was going to incorporate which would benefit and accommodate tourists, workers and the locals. The general consensus was that there needed to be a bigger variety of retail shops, a place for entertainment and better connections in, through and around the shopping centre.

The first image was for our pin-up on Monday 12th October. We talked about the theme of fluidity in conjunction with the masterplan and who was allocated to which zone of the site. Each site has an additional element that we have chosen to incorporate into our design.

Luke and Doug - old Greyfriars bus station site + green space

Lucas - Northampton House apartments + green space (old job centre)

Ross - Grosvenor car park + glass walkway (attaching to Grosvenor shopping centre)

Me - Belgrave offices + glass walkway from Market Square through to Greyfriars

The feedback we received suggested that we widen the scope of our masterplan to connect and incorporate more of Northampton. As a team we rallied to improve our masterplan ready for the opening of the Avenue Gallery Exhibition on Monday 26th October. The second image within the slideshow is the initial thought process of our improved design. At this stage we had come up with the name for our masterplan, 'Project Unity'.

The third and final image is of the final masterplan that we produced ready for the exhibition.
